I like some anime, I've liked some JRPGs... but Wasteland is neither of those things.

Anime is one of my favourite forms of entertainment, but "anime style" in a game like Wasteland 2 would be pure idiocy.

This idea probably won't get too much support.

This doesn't sound bad to me, I have to admit. Those photo-realistic games are destroying my imagination.
Still I'm hoping for true American craftmanship, not some manga/anime nonsense.

Ok so I reached too far.

Hopefully we can agree on this basic idea or agree to discuss it:

Someone seriously needs to start locking threads like this. Suggesting "Anime style" is just asking to be insulted. Why start a punching bag thread? There are a few animes I like. They're all made by Japanese companies. American companies just make themselves look like idiots. Don't try to sabotage the project with shitposting to distract from any meaningful discussion that the devs might find useful.

What part of "C"rpg do you not get?
I don't mind if the art is influenced by late 80's/early 90's Japanmation designs, as it fits with the overall art as i see it.
But what i assume your suggesting is Full Tales of/Final fantasy edged art, which if it is, then kindly fuck off and play your linear Anime Friendship bullcrap elsewhere.
This is for games far more liberated and Open-ended then your typical Jrpg, as much as i enjoy them.

For Wasteland-like thing in JRPG setting, there's Trigun manga to read (anime is mediocre). Let Japanese do it JRPG way.

This.

I love Anime and the variety of styles it provides, but do not want it in this kind of game.
