With such a low budget, investing the money into a mod kit is a waste. It's expensive and necessary only for unskilled amateurs (again, look at F2 and F1 mods, especially F2) who would make crap anyway. IF they had budget such as Fallout 3 had then sure, why not but in this case, when it will take a huge chunk of budget - no.

But that is beyond the point since clearly I'm in the minority.

Only to mention the Killap's Restoration Project or Fallout Weapons Redone on the NMA F2 Modding Forum - these are far away from being "crap". Also new critters (Bald Dude and Longhair Dude) took hundreds of hours to finish and are a great additions to the game.

I'm all for modding kit.

You dont even read my thread...
I not asking about any special work to do. But you said you are against it, well done.

Goral wrote:It's expensive

Man did you ever thing Bethestda's "Creating Kit" its just internal tools of Bethesda studio?
They do not spend money to create something special for modding.

Here we ask inXile do the same thing: release their own toolset if its possible.
I don't even ask about that in my thread, I just ask about simple programming thinks which are NOT cost any extra money.

Goral wrote:and necessary only for unskilled amateurs who would make crap anyway.

Seems like you are super professional game developer.
Did you ever seen FCOM for example?
http://devnull.sweetdanger.net/convergence.html

May be Bethesda never made any "perfect" games, but community always were allowed to change and impove anything.
I believe in Fargo, but as you said game have not really big budget,
Its will be much better if we will be allowed to improve something because no any "finished and perfect" game were released ever, exclude Dwarf Fortes might be.

Goral wrote:again, look at F2 and F1 mods, especially F2

Did you ever try to make any your custom modification of F2?
I tried and spend lots of my time on it, so I can understand how hard its was.
Weeks of work just for single map...

Goral wrote:You do realize you're comparing a low-budget game to a AAA (budget-wise) game, right? So don't be silly. Bethesda would sell any shit to kids. It sufficed that Fallout 3 had slightly improved graphics over Oblivion and that every reviewer considered it as a huge improvement. It sufficed they spent millions on advertisements.

What does budget have to do with it? More advertising, less piracy? What is the point you're trying to make here? :D There are no real-life examples of modding tools reducing sales, are there? I can't get over how hilariously absurd this conversation is.

bigger badder more story.

don't bother with the IOS version. what is that stupidity. Make it for the people who wanted a CRPG; not something you tap away on a tablet.

I voted for a Mod Kit.

Of course I want funds to first and foremost go towards QA matters. I want to play a tight well constructed and immersive game. I want care lovingly poured in equal parts over the engine, game-craft, and story design. I also want the game to expand from the inside out give me a denser/varied playing experience not just a larger sandbox. Once a region feels full populated and alive that's when the borders should grow.

That said after I've played the game I've waited most of my life for I want to see what other ravenous fans of the lore can do. Just like quality PnP RPGs I want to be able to tell stories in a setting I love based on a system I can understand.

A mod kit does not need to be the first priority but if you want to know the one perk that would really excite me about extra funding Its a mod kit. Furthermore a commitment to being mindful of the desire for modding when creating system documents and resources by IneXile would immediately prompt me to increase my financial support.

I think it might be great to do some T-shirts + figurines for the KS tiered campaign. I would love to get both. As is, on the back of the artist I went for the poster tier. Would love both figurines + tshirts.

#1 priority in any case should be polish and bugfixing. Don't you ever skimp on that!

Amount of content should be adjusted according to that.

As for mod kit, I voted for it, but I didn't necessarily mean an actual kit. Just go for as much data externalization as possible, with as little hard coding as possible, and please use a powerful and versatile scripting system.

If you still have money left, by all means you may add 'glitz' like visuals and audio, just use the money efficiently.

Just please don't straightjacket dialogue with fully-voiced audio.

Having a very well tested and stable game should be your priority above the rest. So 1 of my vote goes to a very good QA team :)

Other than that, congratulations on the funding.

Larger world with more content, and a focus on nice artwork, please.

The graphics need to be nice and functional, not mind blowing.

Furthermore, when we get backers forums going, InXile can make pols on any subject they need our input. And I am pretty sure that only the most relevant options for this games will get overwhelming support..

There is an obvious choice missing from this poll....

CHOICES AND CONSEQUENCES

We all know that real choices and consequences take a lot of time to be implemented properly, make this game the first to really succeed in this matter.
