Suggestions for what Wasteland 2 should or could include.

I'd like to see some logical explanation as to why this shouldn't be included in a Wasteland game.

For the same reason that Wasteland 2 shouldn't be an in-depth dentistry simulator.

Damn... that was an option

;)

But yeah.. mutant killing generalisations aside.... Its just not something that fits the Ranger team you are leading.

I see the team as an action team, doing recon, solving problems. Sure they may have to deal with diplomacy, maybe they even get involved in setting up a trade deal with a neighbouring town. But these are asides. The team's main duty IMO is solving problems and bringing Ranger Law to the Wasteland. So whilst trade and business is very important to the concept of rebuilding civilisation, our team are not the ones direclty involved in the business. Our team are the ones clearing the way so the business can be done without risk to life and limb or strongarm tactics.

I think that warrants a huzzah. Huzzah!

I always figure that trade routes would be already established and traders already set up prior the the Ranger's involvement. I mean, trading comes right after permanent settlements are established, the Rangers would be competing against established opponents, that's just a bad business model. What the Rangers provide is law, order, and putting the boots to totalitarian regimes. Because that is something that hasn't been established, unless you want Guardians to take the neck stepping to 11(Which will probably be an option).

i wouldnt mind running a biz of some kind or having a in depth dentistry simulator in it. anything that is off the beaten paths is highly welcome (so i am much more in favour of the dentristy simulator). better than having a stupid lock picking simulator like skyrim. btw, no more lock picking skill please... explosives, ok.

While running a caravan company would be much more suited for the Wasteland Tycoon, IMO one of the basic quest ideas/archetypes should be about getting trade deals from other communities/companies for the New Ranger Center. Methods should vary greatly depending on the player's skillset and the community but the basic premise of getting trade flow between NRC and whatever-ville would be the main objective in each. After all, if your team's job is establishing the NRC without much support from the original Ranger Center, getting that support from elsewhere should be one of the main (at least initial) problems you'd have to solve, right?
If it's worth killing, it's worth overkilling.
