Lodestar - Kickstarter with great sounding idea

Postby Tinkerbell » June 2nd, 2012, 4:44 am

I just quote the setting part:
------------
The game is set in the distant future on a planet residing within a rare type of cataclysmic variable star system. The Lodestar Universe is set in a universe much older than our own. LSS falls loosely into the category of hard science fiction, and includes xeno-drones, re-purposed quasi humans, adaptive sub-quantum xenobiological nanotechnology, genocidal paraterraforming, and quantum mass weapons.
------------

This should probably be considered a very experimental thing, but what I read so far sounds great and also the updates show a very original mind. I'd really love to see that this guy gets a go... pledged 32$ myself. Check it out, please.

Two updates, so far, have revealed detail of a very rich, engaging plotline. The guy only needs another ~$14K in a couple of weeks on this extremely promising project... it would be crying shame if it were to fall short.

Yes it would be, the intriguing story so far is reason enough to pledge. Also its only 2^16 $, so we basically just need 1000 people pledging.... I dont know why this does not take off :(, however I guess too little publicity.

It probably hasn't taken off because it's initial release is Linux. I assume people that only use windows and macs are not thrilled.

Yeah,

I hoped that, considering that Linux users always pay a lot for the Humble Bundles, there would be more interest from linux using people. Probably still not enough gaming people there. A pity. I hope there might be some way for the creator to still make his vision live.
