Oh sweet, thanks Drool. I'll install it tonight after work and mess around with it on one of my other older games.

Thanks. I've already got DosBox on my rig, I was referring to the Loonies add-on. :)

If you go full screen, the colors invert. There's something you can do to fix that with the command line, but I don't remember right now. I just run it windowed.

I've never had that problem, but it could likely be changed in the .conf file, and be permanent.
(Sounds like you might need to change the Output or Scaler in use.)

I just got an email that my games have shipped. I can't wait to fire Wasteland up again and turn people into ground round and exploded blood sausages again.

Edit the configuration, change the "Output=Overlay" line to "Output=Surface". This enabled me to play Star Control II and Turrican as well.

Just to note: Output:Surface, does not support hardware scaling.

I still have my 1998 Ultimate RPG Archive disc that has survived a handful of moves. Although I probably should not have done so--or at least I shouldn't admit to having done so--I have redundant backup copies of the disc on two different computers and 1 USB drive. I bought the disc and I enjoy the games on them so I do not want to risk losing them through some accident.

I wouldn't look for Wasteland 1 to be re-released except on some 25th anniversary special; that is next year, so that would probably be the best--maybe last--time you could find it. Even then, that is only speculation on my part so I wouldn't hold your breath in baited anticipation. Your best option to find it would be online resellers like eBay or Overstock or check every used book store you can find.
No matter how thinly you slice it, it's still bologna.

If for nothing else, EA might conceivably bundle Wasteland into something and try to sell it in the months before Wasteland 2 is going to ship. It's be silly not to, unless they are concerned about image, and releasing an offering that did not sell well. My suggestion would be to have a game magazine that EA does business with request a release of Wasteland 1 in the issue that covers Wasteland 2; that issue would receive an additional spike in sales by people that would never buy the issue normally.
