So topics get locked simply because"the question is answed"

I don't understand why topic have to get locked for this reason, nothing in the rules stated that a topic had to be closed simply because it "a question has been answered". A nice discussion could have developed out of this topic, but I think it was closed just to please a few bitter people on the forum who always seem angry anyway.

Bleh, sorry for seeming hostile (I'm not :p). I just sucks because I was writing a long interesting reply, and the topic was closed before I could post.

It's about keeping the forums sorted. And yes, it doesn't help that the only discussion development in that thread didn't look particularly fruitful.
