Chris F. Avellone: I prefered Fallout 1 style humor, we went overboard on F2.

Like:
Lvl 1 characters enter, let's say, fully functioning and hostile Guardian Citadel.
"Your party enters Guardian Citadel. Angela Death can't see how this could go wrong."
Then, if by some miracle you actually survive and kill everyone inside:
"In front of you lies last remaining Guardian. Despite being numerically and technologically superior, not to mention better trained, somehow your squad of rookies managed to kill an entire army of the biggest badasses of the wastes. In distance you hear universe throwing a tantrum."

Fallout 2 creators on several occasions pointed out they went overboard with Easter eggs and humour in F2. Most recently Chris Avellone repeated that in Reddit AMA:PeBeFri: One new aspect I noticed in Fallout 2 that was largely absent from its predecessor was its tendency to break the fourth wall. Looking back, which level of immersion was better suited for the Fallout universe? Will this impact Wasteland 2?

So if you expect something more like F2 instead of F1 or Wasteland, think again.
