Desert Ranger Concepts

Postby Zompar » April 10th, 2012, 12:26 pm

Hello from Germany.
I have been totally thrilled to hear that WL2 is going to be produced finally. Playing Wasteland back then has been soo huge, maybe THE game experience for me.

I have been doing a good deal of Magic cards over the last years,
concept-art wise I have been working on some jobs with Justin Sweet, Vance Kovacs and John Dickenson before,
doing character concepts for the mmorpg RIFT for example.
(Some works can be see in the “illustration&design” section of my website http://www.raketula.de)

PS: I hope no one takes offense for the Stars & Stripes headscarf, the guy needed a color touch up there….

Hahaha, I really like the Old Glory Turban! I really don't think anyone in the post-apocalypse is going to disapprove of an unorthodox use of the flag. If anything, it makes him a bit of an ultra-patriot if you ask me!

the victory will go
to the one that knows how to yield...

I'm looking at the top pic and I'm thinking that I am seeing Richard Dean Anderson from "Stargate-One".

Really well thought out concepts. Very organic mix of new and used, well done! Love the painterly style myself. Also loving the Pacific Island-themed tats, nice!

Love the guy with the scalps. He looks strong and violent but kinda distracted by his own mind as well.
The tape on the gun also gives it a nice touch.

Good stuff.

I really like them, everything. Maybe throw on a large ruck-sack? It'd really tie together the survivalist angle of the post-apoc.
