For admins: flashing icons!

Postby SXX » March 18th, 2012, 8:07 pm

I have three monitors near to me and I open kickstarter and this forum on my notebook.
I sure flashing threads icons should say me something, but they kind of annoying.
Can you explain what they mean?
I sure they can be replaced by some diffirent icon without flashing.

Right now " Localization Sign Up", " European backers, Reward tiers, Duty and Tax hassle", "Ideas for the Kickstarter-Campaign " are flashing.
Please disable flashing by default or add same function in profile.
I know I can block them with adblock, but I think its annoying not only for me.

They mean that the thread is "hot", usually just means there are a lot of replies, looks like more than 25. But ya, they are annoying.

This thread should probably be moved to the Site Feedback Forum

I think there is much more ways to show us HOT thread than flashing. 8-)

Alt+F4, joke...

ESC doesn't work for Chromium and seems like it need to be done every time.

OK, I finally had a couple minutes to spare so I killed the flashy hot icons and made them more blood/fire like. Much nicer on the eyes. 8-)

Haha. Looking good. Nice job.

Forum users: they're probably still stuck in your cache. So empty your cache and refresh with Ctrl + F5 and see the new ones. Much easier on the eye.
