We want your feedback on the Kickstarter Rewards

So we've said that we want the fans feedback on the actual game design and world, but we also want to hear your thoughts on the proposed Kickstarter rewards. These aren't set in stone yet so let us know if you'd rather see something else instead. We really tried to make these meaningful to the fans and hope they are better than many others you will see on Kickstarter. What do you think?

Pledge $15 (unlimited)
Copy of game free via Steam for PC. You will also get a special skill and weapon only available to those who helped fund the project.

Pledge $30 (unlimited)
Previous reward + Downloadable free digital soundtrack of the game.

Pledge $50 (unlimited)
Previous reward + Full large boxed copy of Wasteland 2, complete with cloth game map and old school comprehensive instruction manual.

Pledge $75 (unlimited)
Previous rewards + Early release episodic Novella’s on the Wasteland 2 world created by Mike Stackpole, a member of the original Wasteland story team. The Novella will give hints and clues being built into the actual Wasteland 2 game. Also, get premier access to an early playable beta on Steam

Pledge $100 (unlimited)
Previous rewards + collector’s edition boxed version of game with in-game soundtrack, old school comprehensive instruction manual with back story. Contains premium box, wasteland miniature, and a Wasteland 2 faction badge. Also get your name the credits in a Special Thanks section.

Pledge $150 (unlimited)
Previous rewards +a limited edition numbered collectible coin.

Pledge $250 (1000 max)
Previous rewards + Autographed boxed collectors edition copy of the game by Brian Fargo, Alan Pavlish, Mike Stackpole and other key development team members. You will also receive 2 digital download copies (so you can leave your collectors edition sealed up!) and a lvl 1 Desert Ranger medal of honor (real metal medal) limited edition collectible.

Pledge $500 (500 max)
Previous rewards + Wasteland Doomsday Preparation Survival Kit. All your doomsday needs in a themed Wasteland collectible bag. You’ll also receive a lvl 2 Desert Ranger medal of honor limited edition collectible.

Pledge $1000 (150 max)
Previous rewards + Become an NPC, Weapon or Location in the Wasteland 2 world! We will get your name and (if relevant) a picture of you to add your general likeness to the actual shipped game. Brag to your friends and beg them not to take you out with a Meson Cannon. You’ll also receive 5 digital copies of the game and a lvl 3 Desert Ranger medal of honor limited edition collectible.

Pledge $2500 (100 max)
Previous rewards + An exploded blood sausage Wasteland limited signed and numbered collectible figurine. You’ll also receive 10 digital copies of the game to do what you want and of course, a lvl 4 Desert Ranger medal of honor limited edition collectible.

Pledge $5000 (15 max)
Previous rewards +We will build a statue in game, in your honor. After getting a picture of you, we will carefully craft this in game statue. You are now forever a part of Wasteland history. At this level, we will also sign and frame actual original concept art from the game. With 30 digital copies of Wasteland 2, you will be a hit with your friends. You will also receive a lvl 5 Desert ranger medal of honor limited edition collectible.

Pledge $10,000 (8 max)
Previous rewards + Come to a private party hosted by Brian Fargo, Alan Pavlish and other key members of the Wasteland team (must be able to travel to Newport Beach, CA). Talk design, previous works or anything else you’d like to discuss. Also, a shrine in Wasteland 2 will be erected in your honor. You’ll receive 50 copies of the game to do what you want, and of course, a lvl 6 Desert Ranger medal of honor limited edition collectible.

Well, I already provided feedback on this. Love the $50 tier, love the $100 CE, love the idea of the novellas.

I think the $30 could've been made a bit more of a "digital CE" considering how important this tier was to the DF Kickstarter effort, but that'd be my only criticism. Just a soundtrack might not be enough to draw people from $15 to $30, and that's a huge increase.

With these rewards and my level of income, I think I will be going for either the $30 or the $100 pledge. It's a really cool idea to have a large box with an old school instruction manual in it.

One question regarding this though. What about international shipping? Will it be around $10 like in many other Kickstarters? I can imagine that shipping a large box half-way across the world might cost a few bucks.

Oh, and it would be cool if the soundtrack was available in both MP3 and lossless Flac.

As discussed numerous times, Blackfyre, Inxile does not have the rights to release the original WL. If they do manage to get it they might do something promotional, I suppose, but right now it just can't happen.

Yeah. I'm a little concerned about this one. I thought pre-ordering would lead to access to a contributor feedback forum, I'm not a big fan of pre-order DLC. And Steam? Why not a DRM-free copy made available for those who want it?

It would have been nice for the Collector's Edition to have included a soft cover novela.
Also, will the soundtrack come on CD?

Sounds mostly good to me, I'll probably go for the $100 tier (just going by the rewards, going from $100 to $150 doesn't really seem worth it to me).

Have to agree on that one. These kind of tricks just rub people the wrong way, even if it's for the most "basic" kickstarter deal.

Let anyone who buys the game at any time enjoy it to the fullest. I also hate feeling like I "bought" cheats.

Well, I'm not really surprised, while I'm not into pre-order DLC myself, there's plenty of people who are (and appreciate it more than they would physical swag), and I don't mind if the devs try to get them to donate.

I agree, plus hopefully they would have a way to release it DRM free. Those are my only complaints. But I guess I'll be happy as long as my boxed copy comes DRM free.

I'm definitely going to put at least $50 in this baby, probably $100. Boy I envy anyone who can donate $10000 though, for more than one reason!

I have a solution to that, Darkie:
Just make the game in europe.

Other then that, it looks very promising up to 100USD but from there its kinda difficult to justify more then that. Except from the signatures

Just thought I'd go ahead and give my input that if I am going to be contributing to this kickstarter it is going to be if I am able to get a DRM free version and not have to use steam. I'm talking about the 15$ tier btw. I haven't decided how much I would pay but if I am not able to get basic DRM free access to the game at the basic level I will most likely not be helping with the kickstarter of this product.

I'm also concerned about the exclusive skill. I'm concerned that having an exclusive skill will alter the basic balance of the game. Either the skill is trivial in order to not have much impact, or it is basically locking out content (assuming the skill can be used to solve quests differently or give you alternate gameplay) if you don't have it.

This is an important issue. DLC is fine, but I hate all these micro-expansions. Either you cannot get them all, or then you have to hunt them down by following all the news sites 24/7. This is annoying if you love the game, but cannot ever try out all possible things in it.

Please, if somebody falls in love with Wasteland 2 after the game is out, let them experience the "whole" game.

(a good example of this is the Mass Effect 3 M-90 Indra sniper rifle. Available as a limited supply from Alienware)

Heh, I won't at all be surprised if you'll get a number of those 10.000 dollar pledges. Also, I just had to read these out loud to my girlfriend. Every step of the way, her jaw dropped an inch closer to the floor.
