Funny. If people are denied something they want for whatever reason, they demand "civil liberties". But as soon as it comes to something they don't like, like e.g. homosexuals, they immediately cry for legal prohibition. Just sayin' ;) .

Actually I was referring to H.R. 347 just passed and signed of on by the President. Another would be the Patriot Act or Obamacare. All three are in violation of the Constitution. Your assumption that I have anything against homosexuality has nothing to do with the stripping of fundamental freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution....just sayin'

Was the American release of Road Warrior somehow altered as well? Because as the best of the three, I definitely would want to see the pure version.

Road Warrior is actually Mad Max 2. Which is also cut down and changed. The UK and PAL release was longer and was uncut.

I was refering to the original Mad Max. Which was redubbed etc.

Erm are you talking to us Aussies?

You want us to leave because of a little censorship, that we have been actively forcing to change. Sure its taken longer than it should, but it is changing.

Our civil liberties in Australia are in a better state than the US at the moment. Sure we have problems too, but I think overall we are better off.
We have always had a strong European influence as well as the US influence, and a very strong internal socialist element. This has generally meant the everyman is better off in Aus. Means that we lose a lot of our skilled guys to countries that they can earn better pay in, but a lot of them end up coming back anyway.

Australia rocks, I highly recommend a visit... Just watch out for the poisonous snakes and spiders, oh and check for the Crocs and sharks before swimming, and don't forget to always look up in case of Dropbears

@kwanzaabot

Just make the no gore option, default for Australia.

A quick edit of a config.txt or xml should change it back, to full glory. That way it stays under the radar and you still get the whole schmawoozle. As long at the game is built from the ground up this way, we should have nothing to worry about.

(I'm in Australia too and I've never encountered dropbear's, or paid a cent in hospital fees)

Socialist? Labor is anti-gay (even though opinion polls suggest that this position is very unpopular), is highly tolerant of socially conservative Bible thumpers, and has a foreign policy that consists of doing whatever Washington says.

Your Greens are left of your "socialists". Hell, Barnaby Joyce is left of your "socialists".

Er don't want to turn this into a political stoush. But Historically (Ie in the past) we have been very socialist. I'm not refering to the Labor party(Although yes obviously some of this influence was due to them). I am refering to the historic trends of our governments no matter the political affiliation.

No comment on our current round of Gallahs that make up our government and opposition. I pretty much hold them all in varying degrees of disregard and contempt.

Oh, well, uh, duly noted, but I dunno if there's too much use if you're not going to suggest any solutions?

Well, the way I see it, there's three things I can do.

1. Become a revolutionary and kick the monarchy out of Australia, or...
2. Become friends with the Governor-General, get put on the ratings board and let Wasteland 2 through, or:
3. Post on the forums about how I don't want the game to suffer because of international censorship laws, but express concern that said censorship laws might make it hard for non-Americans to play the game.

Which one do you think is the most feasable?

As a U.S. citizen, I would say that ALL OF THE ABOVE are feasible. As a soon to be Wasteland 2 player, I'm offended by the lack of options you offer. I would suggest:

4. Seduce the Queen and enourage new democratic elections for the position of Governor-General.
5. Take on the ratings board in a Mortal Kombat-style battle royale. The winner does as they will.
6. Pirate the game and release it over all the country.
7. Seduce Brian Fargo, encouraging him to become your "mule" by smuggling a copy into the country. Body cavities or luggage? Your call!
8. Become Mel Gibson, create a death tech-cult and turn the country into utter Jew-hating chaos.
9. Send a strongly worded letter to the Australian equivelent of the New York Times about how you don't want the game to suffer becuse of international censorship laws.
10. Make your mother a sandwich.
