Cyborgs (to include cyborg rangers)

Suggestions for what Wasteland 2 should or could include.

I look at that and see, "I can RP from stats so why bother with an android/cyborg archetype that can cause game balance issues?"

One would certainly hope Wasteland 2 isn't going to be so bland as to avoid any sort of traits or ability to choose defining characteristics in the name of avoiding anything to spend a few minutes balancing the effects. That would make for a very dry and rather boring character creation system and be a step back from such things as Fallout which had traits and Arcanuum which had a very extensive list of traits/quirks.

Just because it's an android doesn't mean it has to be overpowered. They could have advantages and disadvantages, or even just be similar to normal humans. Cyborgs might be a little more tricky though, but they could have some sort of cost associated with their implants.

It's not about being overpowered, it is exactly what you are describing. An android archetype or race requires a lot of thought with regards to game balance, so if they are introducing this it needs to be thoroughly evaluated and not simply added. It is not a trivial addition. I'd rather the resources go elsewhere, but if inXile can do it then fine, I just don't see it as a priority, especially since it's easily RP'd.

That's fair enough. Some people think the inclusion of cybernetic implants or robotic PCs is about power gaming, so that's why I interpreted you as I did.
