I think you should go with doing an iPad port first. Also, are you planning a Java version? I'd like to play a mini-Wasteland 2 on my Windows phone ;)

As much as I want to say OS X first, financially I think iPad will be the better way to go, especially by the time the project is finished, the potential sales there will far outnumber OS X sales. Plus, I think the top down experience will (let alone turn based?) really lend itself nicely to the touch interface of the tabler.

Please consider making an Android version.

This is a tough one, because the tablet gaming market is REALLY kicking off and I think it could do quite well for you. But at the same time, I imagine it would require a total redesign of the GUI and interface, whereas mac OS/X should be a simpler affair to port to.

So I voted for OSX to make your lives easier, but I'm getting one of the new iPads so I'd buy it on there too, particularly if there was something that made it unique (touch based mini games etc). What I'd say is, sort of like DoubleFine did with their kickstart, is if you make $500K more than you anticipate, you could consider using that surplus to help fund alternate platforms?

I'd like to see Linux version most of all. I supported the Double Fine Adventure before they told they'll make Linux version as well just because I think that's how games, books and music should be financed in the future, but I was very happy to know we'll have another high quality game for the platform.

The same applies here. I also think that it's Linux crowd who would like both funding policy and good old RPG spirit the most.

I think that porting the game to desktop Macs would do porting it to Linux one step closer, so I voted for MacOS.

I voted Mac OS X first, but I'd rather want to see it run on GNU/Linux.

Hi,

I funded the project after reading the RPS interview and watching the video, then I come here to see how it's coming up.

And I see this topic...

Really ?! Hardcore party-based top down RPG on an iPad...

Well, at least it made me register on those forums. I will really be disapointed if the game mechanics are in any ways simplified because of an hypotethical iOS port.

I don't care about the OSX port, and I'd really like to see a Linux port. But I really do hope there won't be an iOS port.

An iOS port would happen after the OSX, assuming funding is sufficient. So nothing to worry about, really. Brian wants this to be a hardcore computer game.

ipad, the interface is perfect for iso view, turn-based, tactical gameplay. Definitely spent more time on my copy of Avadon on my ipad than I have on my PC.

I am biased, I don't have an iPad.. yet. While I think a game such as Wasteland 2 would be great on the iPad, I see myself playing it on my Mac Mini because that is all I have.

I registered to vote and post here. "OS X over iPad" is what I say. As for a third platform after Windows and hypothetically OS X, my vote would be for Linux.

Give me a Linux version before either.

If that's not an option, then OS X. The best case scenario of making an iPad version (or any other tab/pad/slate/etc) is that the normal version is completely unaffected, whereas the expected outcome is that it suffers in some way, no matter how minutely or indirectly.

Once all real platforms have been done (as in, truly, fully completed), then you can think of making a version for any silly platform you like.

Well, that's my opinion anyway.

I'd back the project if there was a GNU/Linux port announced in addition.

I'd say neither is an option for me (I'm a PC user, where PC stands for GNU/Linux only). For obvious reasons voted for OSX first just as almost every GNU/Linux user. I'd like to persuade developers into supporting of my platform but money sounds better :D , so I'm pledged as well in advance!
Also want to say that IMHO the development team doesn't want porting troubles, than any contact with DirectX really should be avoided. In other case the help of Icculus (Ryan C. Gordon) will be almost a nesessaty.

Either is fine as long as the iPad port doesn't affect the PC version.
