Chat room/IRC

I'd like a place on here outside of threads for casual discussion... having a related chatroom is pretty much standard on all popular message boards these days anyways. They're not hard to set up or maintain and serve the dual purpose of keeping most of the random drama off the boards.

So yeah, we should get one.

Snake Squeezins (the Wasteland Yahoo! Group) has a chat room. I don't believe we use it much if at all, but feel free to join the Yahoo! Group and then chat away.

An 'official' IRC channel wouldn't be bad.

I'd suggest Quakenet for this due to the gaming history (and well, I'm already on there ), but there's many choices...

I've registered #wasteland on Quakenet. Everyone is free to join (nearly no one there now except me & some friends). If admins/mods of this forum wish to take over, I'd gladly hand it over.

A General Discussion chat sub-forum would be nice, provided Real Life Politics and Real Life Religions are kept out of it. Sometimes, talking about other games ("Man does not live by Wasteland alone."), movies, books, socializing, etc. is nice when people obviously have _something_ in common.

I have not accessed EFNET much, but I have seen a lot of games on the Coldfront server.

While I do not frequent many IRC servers, I might pop on and have a look, but to be honest, not many of my friends have heard of EFNET either.

Some game forums don't allow members to discuss other games, other than for points of comparison to the host's games. Others limit discussion to ONLY the host's games. I prefer those forums that have General Chat sub-forums and sub-sub-forums that will allow discussions of other companies' games.
