Boxed pledge question

Postby Jack Dandy » June 12th, 2012, 5:55 am

Heya, I'm one of the 7967 backers who chose the BOXED game pledge, and I was wondering-

With it's backing requirement (just 50 $), How could you afford it?
I know for example that the Double Fine physical gift cut out a pretty major part of their funding, and the Wasteland one includes a box, with manuals and maps and booklets and all that.

I saw many other Kickstarter projects charge far more for that kind of physical reward, and I'm just hoping nobody overlooked that in the InXile team.

Now, I ain't complaining, since that price is a perfect fit for that kind of reward (that's why I picked it), but I wanted to know if Fargo has some "connections" ( ;) ) that allow his company to put out that kind of thing with such a relatively low price.

I'm guessing the actual costs for a boxed game are pretty low, especially in bulk. Also, since they've already got digital pre-orders for sale (which are almost pure profit), they can probably afford to eat a little on the price of the boxed sets.
