I'm also really hoping to hear which Google Moderator ideas will get the green light.

I mean, this level of fan interaction is mind blowing and thrilling for me, but what would be the point if I never know if I had any influence, good or bad? :)

I'm curious, as well. But, given the backlash on the social idea, I think they're--rightly so--keeping their mouths shut about specifics until the Kicstarter ends. Brian has mentioned some sort of vision document (not sure if that's what he called it) and I'm pretty sure Brother None stated that document would be shared.

Yes it seems pretty risky now with everything going so well to carve things in stone. Better to let peoples imagination run free, to loosen their hold on reality and thus be more generous with their donations.

This 'vision document' seems to me it will be more of a 'sales document' to further sell the game to people who are interested in turn based rpgs. There will be no graphic quality specifics nor combat mechanics specifics. If we're lucky they might clear up the top down/isometric confusion. We won't get told what engine their using either, since that will be decided in predevelopment, not now most likely. A number of people including Avellone are probably helping to write this 'vision document' too, since it will help sell the game but also be the closest thing to a promise document to donaters and fans. We will probably hear something about the modkit though.

I think, in ages past, studios used to use their developers or something to voice act (or the quality of professional voice acting was way down)... You could too and spend less money, or at least no extra money, worrying about that. :)

But in general, all that extra money should be spent on the scope - bigger world, more quests and such. The goodies (voice actors, orchestras, etc.) are fun to have, but the old games managed to get away just fine without them.

Mod kit, mod kit, mod kit... If your funding was at 1m and I could only request one more feature it would be a mod kit. I don't care if it is released 6 months after the game is released. Just so long as it is promised and you can deliver...

Seriously, the games people continue to play either have a great modding community, or great multiplayer setup. Sure a very good game will have people playing through the campaign several times, maybe even a dozen.. But then what? That is where mods can come in...

Anyway, I voted for modkit, expanded content, and more dialog.

This, this and this again! Modding keeps games and their communities alive for a long time. Modding can often make a game even greater than it was before and in my opinion is absolutely worth putting time into.

I voted for modkit, extra content, and more work on audio (not with vocals). Text dialog will ensure more dialog.

I would like an immersive story, well designed characters and companions, and avoiding the same clichés we see in every movie and videogame nowadays, some variaty in the personalities and motivations of the people you encounter, so that you care about meeting new characters and actualy listening to what the have to say instead of skiping the dialog to get the dam quest, so you can get that money of that item.

Ultra graphics, explotions, and gears of war-type "epicness" I can do without

Also maybe It's beacuse Im the lazy type that gets overwhelmed buy mod tools, but I would rather have the manpower and money in the main game than having extremely awesome editing tools.

If I could, sort of keep adding up to the pledge I've made, I would send in 15$ every months, as if it were a subscription of sorts, heh. But that's not what kickstart is all about, I guess. Found it a bit limiting as when the time runs up, and people come and want to give some more cash, they just can't?

You can't possibly go wrong with "more content" for a sandbox game. It increases the time people play, but also makes the world feel bigger and more real---it would do that even if the content were shallow.

Besides that, dialog. I love meeting real characters that have personalities and preferences, that react to what I do. Voice acting is nice, but it shouldn't get in the way of the quantity or quality of the actual dialog.

Polishing the graphics and artwork is a lesser priority, but useful. It can only make it easier for people to immerse themselves in the game world, and graphics is something that a lot of people judge games on nowadays---it's not a case of pandering to the majority, because I think everyone is pleased with good graphics, as long as this doesn't come at the cost of good content and gameplay.

Personally, I don't feel as big a need for a mod kit, though it seems a popular idea. A mod kit will extend the game's playability and cultural impact, but I think original content is always going to be more important than modded content. Bethesda's easily moddable games allow for the players to do a lot of good work, but for those games, it always feels like you need mods, or the game's not worth playing. That's not what should happen to Wasteland 2: it should be an awesome game first of all, with good mods being secondary.

As the Majority states, larger world and more content...
- interaction with environment is very important. Makes exploration of world much more fun and interesting.
-also attention to detail on combat damage to PC and NPC.

Voted for -Expanded character dialog and voice acting!

I find that good voice acting contributes in making memorable dialogues and characters. Expanded dialogues would also help with better role play.

Now that Win/Linux/Mac are confirmed, all efforts should be directed at making the content even better. In short, no iOS/Android version, simply because it's a different world and making the game suit that environment certainly takes away resources from other places that need them more.

Larger world, more content and then making every other aspect of the game "better". Like "more dialog", "enhanced graphics" (Fallout Tactics -level is OK). Finally keeping the game moddable would be great, it would certainly keep the game alive for years to come.

Inclusion of some "social aspect" would be great, this was briefly mentioned. It would be a nice addition to be able to interact "somehow" with friends, it doesn't have to be full-blown cooperative type-of-deal, but something small goes a long way.

I would like to support more voice acting. A number of RPGs I played recently had terrible voice acting and I just dropped the game after 30 minutes. I don't know if the people that are against voice acting just want a text game or what. I'm assuming they played the original and don't care about advancing to a more modern submission.

Mass Effect 2 and 3 have been, hands down, the greatest role playing games I have consumed. The voice acting is what carried them, along with great writing which goes hand-in-hand with the voice-overs.

Immersive RPGs have all but replaced movies, much like the "talkies" replaced silent films and color replaced black and white. The quickest way to yank a player back from immersion is to screw up the cheapest resource - good writing. Follow that up with crowd sourced voice acting and you should be able to easily enhance the resolution of the experience.

I am sad for you.

Hand in hand? More voice is almost always less total dialog.

Wut?

I don't worry much about the writing, as it's one of main focus of people who proved they're great at it in the past. And I don't need any voice really, even if for few key NPC (final boss, the Master voice was awesome) it can be great.

I would like to see some talking heads for the most important NPCs.

No, i don't want full voice overs, just some NPCs.

While I don't care much about how detailed models/textures are, I do like seeing and hearing the differences between weapons. One of my favourite fallout moments was simply the first moment I fired the SMG, a single metallic note followed by the sigh of a pig rat's lung collapsing.

The first time I heard a 14mm fired (In the hub I think) I nearly jumped out of my seat in shock, an experience that was immediately followed by the thought 'Man I gotta get that gun'.

I want any DLC to be a continuation of the main storyline rather than extra explorable areas ala New Vegas. Something that actually alters the world we knew: Cities that we saved, sacked; people that we helped, killed.

I whole-heartedly second this. DLC should add to what is already there, not try to slap some half-baked new section onto the game. Integration is also very important: if it's your first time playing, then you should not be able to tell whether you have any DLC.

It's a good thing we want a game and not a movie. Enjoy your "games". Let us enjoy our games.

I nominate this one for Casual Gamer of the Year
Needs more romance, needs more emotional engagement, needs more visceral combat, needs more cinematic experience, needs more epicness

I don't even consider them RPGs. You might think they have excellent stories (though I refuse to buy/play 3 because 2's story was so bad), or great character interaction, or great choices, but none of those things make them RPGs. They're shooters - perhaps shooters with some good literary construction, but shooters nonetheless.
in my opinion

What is this voice acting nonsense? None of that, please, I would much prefer money spent on a bigger world/more writers. And by the way, there is no game with full VA which didn't have to sacrifice writing. Mass Effect are perfect examples: writing is short and "movie-ish", meaning cheesy.
