Should be really interesting to see the reactions. It doesn't contain that should come as news to people, just reiterates a lot of core concepts, this is about challenge, no handholding, PnP/old-school roots, turn-based combat, party-based. That's nothing new, or it shouldn't be to the fans. It did have a lot of notions and ideas where I thought "neat", nothing revolutionary, but that was never the goal.

Enjoy, everyone.

Fantastic! This is what crowd funding is about. Getting to learn about more about the development process. I love it.

So far, so good. Nothing we didn't expect in there, but a few minor issues cleared up.

80's B-movie influenced style is alive and well.

I love what is presented so far. As a non-programmer, this seems to be a daunting task! I look forward to seeing how it will be implemented in-game.

Also, I love the fact that we are able to access such amazing documents and ideas outside of the restrictions of NDAs and similar restrictions.

Keep up the good work, in-Xile! I would love to see how the final game compares to the vision document. No pressure! :D

I have been waiting for this game for what seems like a wasteland eternity.

I am so happy I donated the money that I did. I feel as though I'm helping create a game that will not only revive a dying game style, but hopefully inspire younger generations to learn the classic styles and appreciate where video games have come over the years

This sounds insanely ambitious. If they can achieve the level of customisability and reactivity they describe here this will be by far the best game ever.

This is fantastic. If you can achieve what you've described in the vision document then this game will be incredible. I can hardly wait to see the finished game!

I could not have spent that k any better than I did. I am so happy.

As an off-topic, I know InXile has said there will be some insights and the docu episodes, but does anyone have comment on how in-depth (if at all!) any programming/build info will be? As a (piss-poor) programmer and unity developer myself I will be very interested to see how you guys go about using the tools and what creative awesomeness you churn out.

Now back to reading the doc :D

I would love to see a brief step-by-step walkthrough of a segment of the game included in that document. Nothing too complicated, just a hypothetical situation of a group of rangers and allied NPCs engaging in a conversation, a puzzle-like situation, and a combat encounter. Take us through how you imagine a vertical slice of the game will play.

Other than that, the document looks good. It confirms a lot of what we assumed would be true.

Sounds good so far. I must admit that I wasn't that hot on the whole party-based concept. Imo, this just leads to a group of soulless, empty husks of stat-sheets, carrying your loot, ever lacking character. IWD1+2 and the BG-MP "trick" simply ruined this concept for me (never player the original W1)...but this vision document actually sounds pretty neat in that regard. I like that there will be NPCs that can join your group, with their own personality.

...the whole rest of the document sure manages to hit all the right notes. I hope you guys manage to implement it all.

Technically Triple...

First the unforseen meteor shower kills the satellites, killing most communication networks, land damage unknown.
Then everyone freaked out and started launching nukes at each other.
Finally, the meteors that the US knew about...but kept secret...hit.

Wow that was spectacular. I'm only left with two questions; Can I have a Bear, a Robot, a Dog, & a balloon as my party of rangers, and would the game care?
