Immediately liked it. I was worried that Morgan's work wouldn't meet my expectations; I see there's no need to be worried. The "oriental" sound immediately reminded me of the track "Kara remembers" from BSG Season 4 (yeah, I know they're quite different).

This.

It's just 1 minute of audio but it made the idea of this game come alive in my mind.

ok, to paraphrase... the music is dark and tormented. Nice. Maybe too smart and deep for L.A. or L.A. hides a greater mystery at WL2 time.

Mark Morgan also made music for Deus Ex, and some tracks from the game are very, very nice.

One of my favorite ambient musicians is Biosphere. His style is sort of an energetic ambient - energetic enough that I don't fall asleep, and it bears many similarities to Mark Morgan's music. You should check it out if you're a fan. Some of my most liked tracks:

Silene:

Antennaria (used in the indie game Osmos):

Tranquilizer

A strangely addictive track, and incredibly relaxing for me.

Uh, no. He didn't. I have no idea where you got that idea from, but the music to Deus Ex (the original) was composed by Alexander Brandon and Michiel van den Bos, with minor contributions by Dan Gardopée and a single track contribution from Reeves Gabrels.

The music for the sequel, Invisible War, was composed by Alexander Brandon and Todd Simmons in its entirety.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution's soundtrack was made by Michael McCann.

Yip. Los Angeles will be one of the bleakest, darkest areas in the game, closer to the grimmer post-apocalyptic atmosphere a lot of people want. Not all the game will be like that, but LA will. Radio chatter, an eerie atmosphere, cults roaming the streets, overgrown ruins, etc.

Fantastic.

Hoping the beach communities are around, too.

Very nice. What I really like are the silent voices in the background. Sends a chill down my spine! The somewhat arabian vibe is great too.

I hope there will also be some tracks with the 'tribal vibe' like 'A Traders Life'.

You're mistaken...

But this is a game that shines overall too, yes. :)

It sounds like you have reversed the adjectives to me. ^^
I see the tribal influences in that new extract, and this track from Fallout certainly draws the picture of an oriental bazaar. :)

sounds fantastic, however I have concerns that unless these tracks are VERY long, upwards of 10-15 minutes, looping will become an issue because certain sounds are very prominent and may break immersion.

Not bad, but it feels a tad generic, esp. because of the nowadays way overused tribal drum-style rhythms.

Really glad to hear this one. Sets a perfect tone.

That static radio in the middle was a really good, creepy touch.

@ ButchinMelancholy,

nah I don't think so. The drums and the Didgeridoo like wind instruments from "A Traders Life" convey a tribal feeling in my opinion. That on the other hand is arabian/oriental:

But in the end the most important thing is that it's awesome ^^

Yes. :D

I think it's kind of a mix, not as typical as this Baldur's Gate track of course, but as I said, the setting it depicts inspires me some kind of oriental vision (but not the one with sultans etc  , more kind of in the maze of a bazaar with its dangers and weird merchants...).

I know it's a slippery slope to shout out a request, but I'm doin it anyhow.
An ambient cover of California Uber Alles would be sweet as war drum music for ambushes and knock down, drag out fire fights.
Here's a classical version of Holiday in Cambodia, so you know I'm not crazy for thinking it's a good idea.
