That is the problem in dealing with our particular market niche. That's why I'm glad we have a developer like Brian Fargo that has the patience to deal with us and cater to us. I'm sure the image will be fantastic as long as he doesn't reveal that this has been a secret ploy to develop Hello Kitty Island Adventure.

With the poll being so close between the Ag Center and a mutant/cyborg type enemy, we had an internal meeting to discuss the best possible way to use the Kickstarter funds that would benefit the game. While the Ag Center had about 4 more votes, we decided to have Andree's last piece be a Synthetic (cyborg).

These synthetics have turned out to play a fairly major role in the new Wasteland so with one last concept piece, who better to do the synthetic design than Mr. Wallin. We will also use this concept piece as the character portrait in game, so not only does it help guide the character modeler but the portrait will also get used in the game.

This statement is pure win. Synthetics enemies should definitely play a major role in a Wasteland game. I'm glad mutants aren't the prime focus. I didn't vote for this as my first choice, but it was a choice high on my personal list of what I'd want to see. Can't wait.

Anyway, I agree with the choice. I've noticed he's quite good with sci-fi/robotic stuff, and we don't have that kind of thing yet unlike "green" areas, so I guess it's better like that.

Andree is working on a movie right now but has the synth concept in his queue. We will keep you updated on the progress as he gets started.

How about the next time you have a poll you just leave out the fan vote altogether.

It's not something they decided casually, and if it was more overwhelming it would've been different. The fact is that for development purposes at this stage they could use a synthetics piece much more than an Agricultural Center piece (for more than one reason that are not public). This is a typical example of when developers with more knowledge need to overrule fan input. It's not fun, but it was much more practical.
