Hello all lovers of post-nuclear worlds. Hello Brian Fargo & inXile Entertainment. And off course "hello" all people who support Brian & Co.
Together we make a history of new age of game development. Age, where old stars, original creators of old games and just good people at last have opportunity to make old games. Without fat publishers. I'm happy to know that.

It's a great day, great news and big hope on the best future. All of us. Gamers. Developers. Game-industry.

But... enough pathetic words from me... time to pictures.

I prepare for You's little concept-art. Made that picture until mr. Fargo doesnt start on Kickstarter. In earlier period.

And little art of present day.

P.S.
I know my knowledge of english is very low. But i have a hope what my paint better then my words. Maybe i can speak via pictures. )

P.P.S.
Damn! It's a really big-damn-good-day! Thank again Brian Fargo, thanks inXile, all people who work in company (coders, writers, artist, painters, and all people behind the scene). We trust with You. We believe in Yours strenght. We believe what we Win. At last. After long year of waiting.

And thanks all fans who believe in Brian Fargo & Co and Wasteland!

Why ? Because if not be fans - I be never seen a wonderful Wasteland 2 game, and never listen beautiful Wasteland 2 OST by Mark Morgan, and would never seen a wonderful company of developers. Dream Team. Really. Dream... Team... Good luck inXile Entertainment. Good-Damn-Luck.

Folks - we did it! You made everyone old-school gamers happy today.

Chin-Chin!

I'm blown away by your work. I know exactly what you mean by soul - the Fargo building's architecture captures it perfectly, along with the general mood in that picture. Hopefully they developers get inspired by your pieces.

I'm not sure what developers can be inspired this pictures, in Fargo team i supose lot of talented artist and in short future we can see result of they works. But if that concept-art can open for others another piece of Wasteland - i be glad.
Because wastelands have a lot of facet. And different people can see differently. And it is - great! )

One of the facets of wastelands - trader. I know any good traders. But in complex - i dont like people who buy one item by one little price and sell for others for big price.

Image

I think this guy knows how to sell anything for good price. And I hate him for it. )

I remembered one thing ...
I hate post-nuclear games with a lot ammo. In wastelands ammo is a rare object.
One thing to re-equip a revolver bullet or ammo 12 caliber, and another thing to produce something more serious "in field".

What we doing? Come to weapon merchant or Gun-master. Who is Gun-Master? Man who solves the problem.

Excellent work. :)

Have you thought of creating a storyboard to illustrate a story?

Excellent work.

I am glad that these pictures to someone on the soul.

Have you thought of creating a storyboard to illustrate a story?

No. Because storyline (like a comics) need many frames. I paint only single pictures. Even this pictures take a lot of my time. "Lot" because i need work on my personal projects . As an example, I will tell you about my last game.

Image

Simple arcade named Sky Defender: Joe's Story. Between missions I tell story of two man. Gardener Joe and royal governor Fargo (The coincidence of names of pure chance). Little story of two person "eat" six months of my work time.

Image

Why am I told this? Because when I'm drawing concepts - I shoot in different directions. Peoples, scenes, vehicles, design & etc. As i shot with 12 gauge i wound lot of targets. If i make storyboard - i tell only one story. One shot - one kill.

P.S.
By the way, i have a little question. The text is similar to English? Text can be read by other people or not? ) Maybe i think what i be wtire on english, and in fact text looks like a savage signs.

I can read your text fine.

Sounds like you put a lot of heart and effort into your concepts and that's something I respect greatly!

This image that I've quoted though, this is a drawing? Something else man!

Oh god. I be glad to know it. ) Now i have opportunity speaking with other post-nuclear-crazy-funs! And not only. :D

My motto is - the games it is love. Only if developer put into the game him love - gamers love this game. If you not open your chest and do not pull out heart for others - you lose. A talk about myself. Pull out the heart sometimes very painful.
So - I do not recommend doing it all who read this text. Sometimes yes.:D

This image that I've quoted though, this is a drawing?

It's a mixed technic. For this game i used 3D-models with art post-work.

Something else man!

No problem. ) For you! )

Per piece of art work how long does it take you to complete these? Do you charge for freelance work?

Rick, I have been following this thread since you first posted, but I now felt the need to reply. First, English is definitely good enough for us to understand. I know some Americans who I have more difficulty understanding! Second, your art is very impressive. It has a bit of a steampunk feel to it, with the bronze/brown coloring. Is that intentional or is it all in my head? Also, I love that Sky Defender piece. If you have a high resolution version, I would love to add it to my wallpaper rotation!

If i understand You - question in "how many time i take on this art"? Sorry for re-question. But i fear mistakes.

Not many time. I'm "sit" on my tablet on morning. M-m-m... 12 hours... and i have a little set of wastelanders. Man with old hat... and two mans in last post... and my little present for You again...

Image

I want place this on next day, tommorow, because i love look on picture a "fresh look". Find mistakes, fix it... and "Go Johnny Go"... other words work place on the forum or go to customers.

But why not put it today?

Yes. I earn additionally sometimes as freelancer. On interesting projects.
Because better just paint than work on uninteresting project. As they say, better starving, than working on casual and social games (just kidding, sometimes i have to do it).

I must honestly warn you if you're a potential customer:
- I have a limited color blindness
- I'm drawing in certain color gamma
- I am Russian
- I speak like a savage
(laughs)

But all honest. So I shock all my customers.

M-m-m... in previous post i wrote... about... my eyes.
I was born with strange color perception. All years in game-development i try use other color gamma like other painters. Until in one beautiful day come to me knock old artist and say:
- Do not play the fool. God gave you these eyes, and you have no right not use them. Not you given, not you and change it.

And i say myself - Do not play the fool. )
Just paint.

I love that Sky Defender piece. If you have a high resolution version, I would love to add it to my wallpaper rotation!

Sorry, i have no big resolution. I make this pic on 640x480 resolution. For flash-game. But when i start second part of game - i remember what you want a good sky wallpaper. :D

Even with your limited color blindness and that you draw with a certain level of gamma applied it seems to make your works unique. You have a fine attention to detail and expression.

What would you charge in U.S Dollars for a detailed full body drawing?

Can you support working at a resolution of 4,000 x 6,000 width x height?
