I was so excited to clone Huey. I got Duey and Louie out of those machines.

It just took so LONG to grow clones back then. I wonder how long it takes with modern technology.

I never saw much point to the cloning vats. I did clone my whole party and leave them in just in case someone got killed, but I never needed to replace anyone by that point in the game.

Well, if you liked a full party of 7, cloning was a way to fill out your party with PCs that were going to be categorically better than any NPC except Vax. I once used it to keep track of how many times my party went through the game by cloning my main dude and slapping a number on him.

You'd think Luke XVI would have been a mess, being a clone of a clone of a clone of a clone of a clone of a clone of a clone of a clone of a clone of a clone of a clone of a clone, etc. but he kept going like a champ.

I cloned Vax a bunch of times. If I remember correctly it turned him in to a PC. My Party had mad toaster repair skillz..
