A fairly long history of roleplaying has made me something of a writer as well, especially character and locale descriptions.

I can see many people are interested in writing, so I'll try to whip something up so you can see how I roll with things, I'll just edit it in here when the time comes. (soon)

EDIT AGAIN: I posted them in the crowdsourcing missions thread.

Also, my first post here. Finally made myself register! It feels good.

I'm interested. (Another jack-of-trades)
Mostly illustration/ some 3D/ some Modding/ plenty of stuff that doesn't apply/(not much call for a prop-master I'd suppose).

My passions aren't in the nuts and bolts of coding or artwork but teams need diversity in order to be innovative. My areas of study and passions include, Cultural Geography, Forestry, History and Business. Those aren't skills that lend themselves to art or creation of game assets but I can help you with questions about the environment, how different cultures function, historical comparisons and even just good old fashioned business logic. Of course given your successful market penetration of a niche market with this old fashioned RPG I'm sure you've got business covered. If you need any help with something that falls in my wheelhouse then feel free to shoot me a pm.

I'll give you a sample right now if you'd like. One tree that you'll want to include in your game is Maclura pomifera, or as its commonly referred to, Osage Orange or Hedge apple tree. Its one of the most widely planted trees in the United States and its arguably the hardiest. You can find it in all 48 states because of its extensive use as a natural hedge fence. The tree's sap is an insect repellent and the fruit of the tree has a milky sap that is a skin irritant. It thrives almost anywhere and can be used to reclaim strip mine sites. The wood burns at the highest BTUs per cord of any North American hardwood and it was a favorite tree of Native Americans that used it to make longbows and warclubs. Much like locust trees this plant species has already survived a mass extinction back in the ice age and a couple of nukes aren't about to wipe out something that has already withstood massive climate shifts. Those are the kind of details I can assist with if you need any help.

Need a wasteland / security consultant, lol?

I actually live/work in a post-industrial wasteland in America's Midwest. Nothing like patrolling abandoned factories and houses at four in the morning and being showered in cockroaches when you turn on the flash light after stepping through the door way (Tip: Light THEN doorway).

Here's a Wasteland applicable tidbit from the wasteland:

Per the Vision Document, given the emphasis place on the few remaining sources of power for a community, the majority of the buildings the Rangers will find themselves in will have been "scrapped". Scrappers will have broken in and literally ripped the metals out of the walls. First is copper, due to its higher value than other non-ferrous metals. The plumbing is the first to go, as it is the easiest to extract and has a higher volume. Simply rip it out of the basement, fixtures and walls. Next is the wiring, as it is more difficult to obtain than the plumbing and has a lower yield. Barrels are commonly found near houses and other buildings (or in the woods to avoid detection) during that phase as the insulation is burnt off (clean metal is more valuable). Lastly, the aluminium goes. Siding, gutters, and downspouts are all taken. While there is more metal to be had in aluminium in terms of weight, it is less valuable than copper per pound.

Additional fun fact, metal scrapping is not new to our era or technology level. Look at the Roman Colosseum and you will notice round holes evenly spaced along the walls. Those are from where Dark Age scrappers drilled into the concrete to extract the metal rings used by the Romans as structural reinforcement.

I've played a fair few RPGs over the..eek last 2 decades, the one thing I feel I can be good on is character creating with background notes, perhaps if stuck for NPC ideas I can throw some out and if none taken, no offence taken!

Example

"Npc Name Known to Public "Ghost" Real name "David Filson"

Intent and focused stare, rusty eyes colour. Frowns a lot. etc etc

This character is rumoured to be a spirit, never making a sound, never contacting the nearby towns. He has been spotted very rarely, covered in ragged camoflage and vanishing without a trace when approached. He leaves no tracks and those who know about him are uneasy about his presence, mainly because they don't know if he's just scared, or completely mad..

On discovery from the party playing the game via peaceful/insightful means, [in which they convince him not to attack and try writing a note to him] this npc is in fact born severely/profoundly deaf and lost his parents aged 9 during the nukes. The area he lived in succumbed to 'out for themselves' beliefs and he found himself alone. His hearing aids soon ran out of battery back to a world of silence...

He avoids everyone simply because he doesn't know how to communicate with them and know if they're hostile or not. He has some form of reading ability, he may recognise some spoken words from his school days with lipreading but overall he is just scared. He has an insane amount of visual perception which the body automatically focuses on honing to make up for the hearing loss. It is also why he so good at spotting any tracks he may leave behind. He uses his father's hunting rifle which he managed to salvage many years ago. He is an exceptional sniper and more than capable of threading a bullet through your nostril.

Via violent/death means, you find his diary, almost like a childs writing yet neat. He also has a copy of The Bushwhackers Survival Guide, signed with love from Jack Filson and Jane Filson.

Expansion ideas, you find batteries for his hearing aids. Over time he becomes an exceptional character and learns what he missed out in the previous years rapidly."

I wrote this one because I can't really remember when a disabled npc was used in rpg games... But got the gist of it! :)

Sure, I'd love to help out with your Wasteland 2 Thingamagiger! Why I'm no artist but I'm a fantastic writer well known for my work with similar titles to yours like Angry Birds, Farmville, Where's Waldo, and all those other games the kiddies love these days. Together we'll make this a better "find the object" title than those Nancy Drew games your audience so adores! I'll await your call Mr. Kickstarter Legend Timothy Schafer.

Although in all seriousness I'd very much like to help bring some further humor in line with your vision document. Maybe a series of collectible ads for real life versions of "classic" games spread throughout the world. Games like Unreal Tournament 2021 (You as the player face a block of shiny irradiated meat and repeatedly smack and poke it with a pointy stick) or Mass Effect 9 (which is a small sheet of paper with a stick figure drawn on it that you can customize. A crazy person would watch what you put on there from behind you and scream "M-rated" whenever you draw breasts or a curse word on the thing). Here's a sampling of my work when I was a writer for Gameblurb doing a web comic called Gaming Funnies:

Mario's Ascension: http://www.gameblurb.net/more/game-humo ... ascension/

I'm a programmer, worked for about 6 or 7 years in the game industry on PC and console platforms. I mostly do mobile programming now.. If you wanted to do an iPhone version of wasteland? :)

Otherwise I'm a generalist, familiar with different languages and systems, and I'm pretty flexible, if you want to source stuff out to me, just ask, and I'll help if I can!

Heh, I wonder who gets the job of sifting through the slush pile.

I am looking for new contracts if you need concept art for environments/prop development.
Here is some material from other projects as well as my site.

I'm a miserable writer and a terrible artist, but I am a hobby machinist/gunsmith and have a nice vault of schematics I could provide. I also have my BA in Psych if you want some sciency input and I happen to be married to a girl with a MS in Forensic Genetics who also likes to put forth her sciency skills.

I realise it is unlikely that another composer would be needed, but if there ever arises a need for additional music or sound design, it would be a Dream Come True to be involved.

I recently finished a soundtrack for the original Wasteland which can be listened to here:

or downloaded from my website, along with some of my other work:

I could do Linux testing. Also have some basic experience with game development (made my own isometric 3d RPG a year ago) and have some writing skills (I have a book pending to be published). Dont know if being in Cuba is a problem for the team.

I don't have much in the way of technical skills, but I'd love to contribute to Wasteland 2 with voice acting or something in that vein of work if you guys need/want that.

I'm just a hobby artist working for Zero: Was vom morgen blieb (zero-projekt.net) in my free time. I did some models of items (stimpack, beaverages, keys) and environment (vegeation, motorcycle) and recently I also played around with special effects (explosion, as seen in the video below)

No high resolution but anyway: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWK0-1Vf ... ature=plcp

If you like it I can provide you with more detailed pictures. I really love the idea of creating what fans have wanted for so long and even including them in the development process. Keep up the good work :)

I'd love the opportunity to do some voice acting, if at all possible. I don't have a place where I've got samples so I suppose I should do that.

Apart from that I could help with Linux testing, since I use that exclusively. I'm also fluent in Spanish if you're doing translation and so on.

In technical terms, I'm a C/C++ and Perl programmer, as well as computational biologist. Though... I don't know how that last bit would help!

And this is a great soundtrack! Reminds me of the awesome Fallout: NV music, gives that deserted feeling.

I can't sing, I can't dance. IRL I do QA for technical work on aircraft; I do have a keen eye. I know a little about a lot and a lot about nothing. American is my first language and I can speak German and Italian pretty decent. I also cook a mean breakfast and homemade hamburgers. So I'm pretty much no use ;) I can help people with their submissions maybe?
