      The point is that they are making the game they want to make. In addition to that, they are making the game that WE paid for them to make through crowd funding.

      So no. They should NOT hand this off to Bethesda (who did in deed do a wonderful job with Fallout). They want to make an isometric game. We funded them to make an isometric game. So what if the graphics are not hyper realistic.

      This game can still be a major hit. It doesnt have to be a hyper realistic uber detail first person perspective to be a hit.

      If your remark was serious… then you missed the point of this entire project, Im sorry.

And do not forget, publishers will always interfere and change this..please understand why wasteland 2 is born to be funded by fans dude…CAsey, you need to read more about the game industry and see it openly…the comment you created just showed that you never really hear or see what the Inxile or developers REALLY WANT to do…

Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. One of my best video game memories was sitting at my desk in the dark and seeing Brian Fargo presents as the music kicked in to start Fallout 1, talk about atmosphere! One thing I keep thinking about though is should I donate now and get the game pretty cheap or wait for it to come out and help you guys out buy paying full retail price… I’m curious would you guys rather have my $15 – 30 dollars now or have me as a paying customer once it’s released?

  133. Sorry if it has already been said or if is painfully obvious this will not happen. But a simple request to NOT have a “Bethesda” ending of “yeah you won, now you and your party died in some stupid way, please watch these story boards to see how horrible your squashing/drowning/disintegration happened despite how you played the game. Would rather have no “ending” then to see another one of those.

    • Jason, gotta say I have no idea what you are talking about. Is this a reference to ME3? If so, that’s Bioware, not Bethesda. I didn’t think the ending was that bad myself.

      I’d like to see something similar to the original Fallout ending(s). That was the most memorable ending I have experienced so far (Dragon Age: Origins, a Bioware game, had good endings, but none as memorable as Fallout’s).

  139. I have lived and breathed Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 for the better two thirds of my life. I have explored every single zone, aquired every item, played every class combination you could think of, and beaten every quest in all their gloriously obscene tangents: Still i play these two games start to finish every month or so. To me these games are masterpieces, and I don’t give a fuck what anybody else thinks. They are the iconic staples to all turn-based gamers who stepped outside the realms of D&D’s dice and Civilization’s strategy. I’ve played these games since I was nine years old, and I’ll be playing them long after I’m 90. Even if I’m in the nuthouse and I have to pretend my bedpan is a powerfist.

As someone who grew up during the days when Computers and CRPG’s were new and exciting, and I remember when you were working at Interplay back in the day when it lived up to the motto, “By Gamers, for gamers,” I am greatly excited by the prospect of the return of a true, turn-based, top down/ three-quater view CRPG. PLEASE: stick to it and (just one more time) create a top-down, turn-based, single-player, offline, multi-characters rpg like in those glorious days of 1990!     • I agree 100%. I still vividly recall sitting in front of my C-64, playing Wasteland, glancing up at the clock, thinking ‘God, I’ve got to get up for work in 5 hours!’ Then thinking ‘maybe I’ll play just a FEW MORE MINUTES!’. THere have been some CRPGs since then that have caused similar occurrences; but as time went on, there were fewer turn-based RPGs. One of my favorite recent RPGs was Dragon Age—Yes you could pause it; but it still wasn’t turn-based RPG with substance! Every RPG now (Skyrim, for example) is a real-time affair, rather than a relaxing, involving tun-based experience. Kudos to the Wasteland2 team; and know that I’ll be buying it the day it’s released!!

  168. I was a huge fan of fallout 1 and 2, [Which i bought 3 times. 1 i lost. I was the GOY edition. The other one was the F1 F2 pack] loved the turn based strategy. Quirky story line. Sadistic comedy, and more Easter eggs then Easter bunny can hide in a life time. Can’t wait to see how it all started.

    But i think you should follow blizzard policy on game release. Its ready when its ready. An not a momment before.

  170. To me the most important thing is that you can replay the game multiple times with a fundamentally different character ala Fallout 2. I replayed that game every summer for 7 years. If you can make a character with less intelligence actually feel stupid (same goes for differences in other attributes) and this gives you a totally different experience I suspect I have another game to play for the next 7 summers after release.

    Also, remember shades of grey! not just black and white.

    4) Items – quality over qantity.

  172. Mr Fargo, I loved the original fallout (1 and 2) though I haven’t gotten the chance to play wasteland yet

    I have a few recommendations -
    maybe an unlockable game mode where there is the original game but with better graphics/interface

    ensuring it is steam compatible (achievements maybe?)

    a small fallout reference (like a vault jumpsuit lying around some where or the brotherhood of steel’s logo on a wall)

    and finally a Tommy Gun (not under-powered please like in fallout 2…)

  183. Never got the chance to play Wasteland as Ive never had a machine that was compatible or had the smarts to make it compatible. Either way I enjoyed Fallout one and two and hear that Wasteland was what they were based on and am very excited at the possibility of actually being able to play something other than fallout but with the same type of theme.
